I recently took a little trip to Barcelona and having never been before I didn't know quite what to expect but I had the most incredible time. We visited a lot of touristy places including Park Güell (which I couldn't recommend enough), and Las Ramblas was right near where we stayed. Down the little streets near our apartment were lots of quirky bakeries and coffee shops, its a fun place to go if you like mooching about and exploring.
